Camas

Camas (Camassia quamash). Bulb.

These bulbs like seasonally wet soil – our bulb is at the edge of the rain garden where it can be submerged for brief periods during heavy rains. They haven’t reseeded or spread, but they’ve been in the ground for years and do bloom reliably. They’ve been easier to establish than some of our bulbs favoriing drier conditions.

The brown speck on the buds is a lynx spider.
